FULL: President Trump signs Laken Riley Act into law

President Donald Trump signed his first bill into law on Wednesday. The Laken Riley Act requires the detention of unauthorized migrants accused of theft and violent crimes.

During the signing of Laken Riley Act, President Trump said he plans to send migrants in the U.S. to Guantanamo. “We’re going to send them out to Guantanamo,” the president said in the White House East Room on Wednesday.

The law allows for states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for harm. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt warned nationals considering to enter the U.S. that they will be detained and kicked out of the country.
